Although rare, timolol can increase muscle weakness in some patients with myasthenia gravis or myasthenic symptoms. Beta‐adrenergic receptor blocking agents may mask the signs and symptoms of acute hypoglycemia and clinical signs (eg, tachycardia) of hyperthyroidism.
