What is the difference between Gammagard and Gammagard SD?
GAMMAGARD LIQUID and GAMMAGARD S/D are indicated as replacement therapy for primary humoral immunodeficiency (PI) in adult and pediatric patients ≥2 years. GAMMAGARD LIQUID is for intravenous and subcutaneous use. GAMMAGARD S/D is for intravenous use only.

How often is Gammagard given?
GAMMAGARD LIQUID IV is an infusion that is administered into a vein. Patients with Primary Immunodeficiency (PI) will typically receive IV infusions every 3 or 4 weeks. The IV infusions may be given in a hospital, an infusion center, or at home by a nurse.
How long does gammagard infusion take?
Most often, infusions are given every 2 to 4 weeks for MMN. Your doctor will help determine what's right for you. The exact infusion time may take a few hours and will depend on the infusion rate, the dose being administered and patient tolerability.

It may be given as a one-time infusion (such as for Kawasaki's disease). For other diseases, it may be given from anywhere between one to five days on a monthly basis.
How do you get rid of an IVIG headache?
We try slowing the infusion rate, premedicate with steroids, low dose Lasix, or premedicate with Nurtec. Usually, one of these methods helps minimize or eliminate the headaches. In my opinion, the best approach is premedication with steroids and/or NSAIDs.
