What is MuGard used for?
About: Mucosal Coating Rinse (MuGard®) This medication works by adhering (sticking) to the mucosal surface of the mouth. By adhering to the outer layer of the inside of the mouth it creates a protective layer that covers any ulcers. It is used in the treatment of mucositis, stomatitis, and ulcers.
Is MuGard prescription only?
MuGard is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of Oral Sores or Irritation. MuGard may be used alone or with other medications.
What is oral mucositis?
Mucositis is when your mouth or gut is sore and inflamed. It's a common side effect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy for cancer. Although mucositis is usually painful, it can be treated.
What is the purpose of MuGard oral mucoadhesive?
