How is Yondelis ® administered?

YONDELIS ® is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion into a vein over 24 hours every 3 weeks. If you experience side effects, your doctor may recommend a decrease in dose and/or delay your dose to prevent worsening or recurrence of side effects with YONDELIS ®. Is Yondelis ® safe and effective in children?

It is not known if YONDELIS ® is safe and effective in children. YONDELIS ® is a prescription medicine used to treat people with liposarcoma or leiomyosarcoma that cannot be treated with surgery or has spread to other areas of the body, and who have received treatment with certain other medicines.

What is the prognosis of rhabdomyolysis following Yondelis ® treatment?

Among the 24 patients receiving YONDELIS ® with Grade 3 or 4 CPK elevation, renal failure occurred in 11 patients (2.9%); rhabdomyolysis with the complication of renal failure occurred in 4 of these 11 patients (1.1%). Median time to first occurrence of Grade 3 or 4 CPK elevations was 2 months (range: 1 to 11.5 months).

Can you take Yondelis while pregnant?

Embryo-Fetal Toxicity — Based on its mechanism of action, YONDELIS ® can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman. Advise females of reproductive potential to use effective contraception during therapy and for at least 2 months after the last dose of YONDELIS ®.
