Sprycel is used as a long term treatment and in clinical trials has been taken for 5 years. You usually keep on taking it as long as: your tests show it is working well. your condition has not worsened.
How do you handle dasatinib?
Take dasatinib exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole; do not split, chew, or crush them. Wear latex or nitrile gloves when handling tablets that are accidently crushed or broken to prevent contact with the medication.
Does SPRYCEL cause hair loss?
Hair loss is a possible side effect of Sprycel. Individual clinical studies didn't report how often hair loss occurred. However, combined data across studies of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and ALL estimated hair loss to affect 1% to 10% of people who took only Sprycel.
What are the long term effects of taking Sprycel?
