What are the warnings, precautions, and contraindication? The MiniMed 670G may not be safe for use in children under the age of 7 because of system design and the daily insulin requirements. The MiniMed 670G should not be used in patients who are: Unwilling or unable to perform a minimum of four blood glucose tests per day. Unwilling or unable to receive follow-up care from a healthcare professional. People may not see pump signals or hear the alarm because of vision or hearing loss. The pump has multiple safety alarms but it will not notify the user if the infusion set is leaking or the insulin potency is low. If the glucose reading is out of range when the MiniMed 670G is in use, patients should check the insulin pump and infusion line for any leakage. Cost of MiniMed 670G MiniMed 670G is available through Medtronic for $799. Medtronic may offer it for free to patients participating in an approved system access program.
